The Esports World Cup 2026 League of Legends Korea Qualifier launched May 4 in a double-elimination bracket featuring nine LCK teams—excluding auto-qualified defending champions Gen.G—with the top two earning main event spots via Bo3 matches (Bo5 for finals). Early results shook trader consensus: second-seed KT Rolster fell 0-2 to BNK FearX, Kiwoom DRX exited 1-2 in play-in to DN SOOPers, and T1 dominated Hanwha BRION 2-0, signaling underdog potential amid LCK Round 1 seeding. Top seed Hanwha Life Esports faces SOOPers May 5, followed by Dplus KIA vs Nongshim RedForce; Round 2 pits FearX against T1 on May 12, with upsets possible given recent LCK momentum and Fearless Draft format. Ongoing progress through late May will refine qualification paths.
