Trader consensus positions Fabiano Caruana as the clear frontrunner at 31.5% implied probability for the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament winner, anchored by his world No. 2 live rating of 2804 and proven Candidates pedigree, including runner-up finishes and elite classical stability. Hikaru Nakamura follows at 20.0%, fueled by his No. 3 rating surge to 2789 post-2024 Chess Olympiad bronze and consistent Grand Chess Tour contention. Young phenoms Javokhir Sindarov (16.0%) and Praggnanandhaa R (13.0%) reflect rising momentum from Olympiad heroics—Sindarov's junior titles and Pragg's team gold—boosting their FIDE Circuit points early in the qualification cycle. Veterans Anish Giri (9.5%) and Wei Yi (8.5%) hold steady via top-10 ratings, while Esipenko and Bluebaum lag on recent form. Upcoming elite opens could accelerate shifts.
