Recent polls in Clacton, including Survation's early August survey, show Reform UK candidate Nigel Farage on track for roughly 70% support against a fragmented field of independents and minor-party contenders, well above his 46.2% share from the 2024 general election. Major parties have opted not to contest the August 13 by-election, leaving limited organized opposition, while Reform maintains a competitive national position. Local voter sentiment and campaign focus on constituency issues have reinforced this lead. With implied probabilities near 98% for an increased share, traders reflect the consistent polling gap and structural advantages. Even so, unusually low turnout, an unexpected surge by one of the record 34 candidates, or late developments around the preceding standards inquiry could narrow the margin.
