Trader consensus on Polymarket prices Green Party candidate Zoë Garbett at 62.5% implied probability to win Hackney's mayoral election on May 7 under first-past-the-post voting, driven by a perceived Green surge amid voter frustration over housing affordability, rising service charges, and gentrification in the Labour stronghold borough. Incumbent Labour mayor Caroline Woodley, elected in the 2023 by-election, trails at 28% despite pledges for new schools, energy efficiency in council homes, and budget protections, as Garbett—Hackney councillor and London Assembly member—gains traction with commitments to community land ownership, pension divestment, and anti-gentrification measures. Recent campaign launches and pledges highlight cost-of-living pressures, with Liberal Democrat Eva Steinhardt, Conservative Tareke Gregg, and Reform UK's Vahid Almasi distant at 3.2%, 0.6%, and 1.7%.
