Incumbent Republican Maria Elvira Salazar holds a structural edge in Florida’s 27th congressional district, rated Likely Republican by nonpartisan forecasters and carrying an R+6 Cook Partisan Voting Index. Strong fundraising totals, established name recognition, and the district’s partisan lean underpin trader consensus favoring the Republican Party. A crowded Democratic primary on August 18, 2026, featuring multiple challengers has yet to produce a clear general-election threat, while early hypothetical polling showed Republican candidates ahead by mid-single-digit margins. Upcoming primaries and any shifts in South Florida voter patterns remain the primary variables that could alter implied probabilities before the November general election.
