Recent state-level polling in Rio Grande do Sul shows Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) leading first-round presidential voting intentions at 42% against incumbent Lula (PT) at 39%, with Renan Santos, Augusto Cury, and Pablo Marçal each in single digits. This local edge stems from sustained regional preferences for conservative stances on agriculture, rural financing, and economic predictability, areas emphasized during Flavio Bolsonaro’s recent Expointer fair visit and campaign events. Lula’s parallel stops for climate infrastructure talks have not closed the gap. Low support for other registered candidates aligns with their minimal poll shares, leaving little room for late shifts before the October 4 first round. Market pricing reflects these RS-specific trends amid national polls showing a tighter contest.
